In Sunrise Sunset, two gods clash for control of the solar cycle.
Two players face off in a duel: one embodies Horus, god of light and sky, while the other takes on Seth, god of darkness and chaos. The battle unfolds across three scenarios —the world of the living (Deshret), the underworld (Duat), and the Solar Barque (Mandjet)—, representing the different phases of the Sun’s journey.
Players take turns placing cards in one of the three locations until each side has two cards, creating a total of 12 cards in play. When complete, battles resolve: winning grants control of a zone, and if you already controlled it, you inflict one damage point on your rival. The game ends when a player deals three damage points and claims victory.
The cards possess different powers and abilities; some are even played face-down, hiding your strategy and adding tension to the matchup. Knowing each card thoroughly will let you anticipate plays and make better decisions. The rulebook includes an ability summary to ease tracking during the game.
